The South West Parlour, Cottonwood Mansion

The Pettit Parlour
The South-west parlour was dedicated in 2001 to be known as the Pettit Parlour, in honour of former member Jack Pettit of Grimsby, Ontario who left a bequest to Cottonwood in his will in excess of $150,000.

We don't know for sure how this room was used, except to surmise that it was an after dinner smoking room for the men. Today it is a meeting room and ideal for serving buffet dinners.

This room holds our photographic record of the "Holmes School" which once occupied the north-west corner of the farm. In this parlour we keep our photo albums documenting the entire restoration project.
