This room is a memorial to Helen Smiley Smith, grandaughter of
William Holmes, builder of Cottonwood. Portraits here include William &
Cynthia Holmes and Henry & Lillian (Holmes) Smiley, Helen's parents.
Many of the artifacts in this room, including the balloon back
chairs, the horsehair settee, the marble topped parlour table and the flax
wheel, were donated by Helen's family after her death in 1993.
